About Serene
Funeral Planning
Serene Funeral Planning was founded in 2022 by Angela Young, based on her desire to offer funeral plans that met the needs of both customers wishing to plan for their future funeral, and funeral directors wanting to offer a suitable product to families making contact with them.
Angela successfully navigated the company through regulation and in 2023 Serene was approved by the FCA as a provider of funeral plans in the UK (Firm Reference Number 975199).
In 2025 LR Bereavement Holdings purchased Serene bringing it into the A.W. Lymn family. A.W. Lymn has supported the people of Nottingham in arranging funerals since 1907. Since this time it has expanded, conducting funerals across Nottinghamshire, Sout Derbyshire and a small part of Leicestershire, owning a crematorium in Staffordshire, and offering direct cremations across the Midlands. Even after all this time it is proud to still be owned and managed by generations four and five of the Lymn Rose family. Bringing Serene into this group gives it the benefit of generations of experience in understanding funerals and how to best support someone in purchasing their own funeral for the future.
